There were some great sights over the cliffs. Unfortunately WIFI is limited tonight so no photos. I'll try later.
We visited Slea Head which is the most westerly point of Ireland. Strange to see a beach (and people on it) but wonderful scenery nonetheless.
Also went to Gallarus Oratory. Built some 1300 years ago and without mortar yet still standing. Unreal.
EDIT
Thank you to Teresita for the following image. No photoshop. No editing. Taken from inside out of the above oratory. I've been touched by the light!
Lunch in Dingle was great. Fish and chips in the harbour. Not a bad way to spend an hour.
While the scenery today was breathtaking I must say that Mass was the highlight.
Celebrated with the parishioners of St John and Stephen it was the first Mass for the young children making their first communions. We were well welcomed by the congregation and Fr Dan. A very active parish and a wonderful celebration. Also heard the Our Father in Gaelic.
Tomorrow is the day I've been most looking forward to. A long bus and then boat trip to Skelligs Island to climb the stone steps on Skellig Michael to see the monastery. Apparently Star Wars was filming there last week. Will see how things go.
Have decided that Mr Smithwicks is my favourite Irishman. Watching Wales beat England in the Rugby with he and a Welsh family was a great experience.
Met Victor though today too who is another character. He has run the local sports store for over sixty years. He is 84 tomorrow. Happy birthday. A great bloke.
Particularly missing the family today. Seeing the kids at Mass and the vastness of the Atlantic Ocean put the distance between us into perspective. Skype is brilliant and I'd say I'd be completely lost without it.
I'm lucky to have such a good partner to keep it all going. Nearly eight years strong now. All my love.
